Project Nore – Schools Bundle
Post-Primary & Primary Education Facilities – Ireland
Post-Primary & Primary Education Facilities – Ireland
Project Nore was a major seven-school education programme delivering new and upgraded educational facilities across multiple locations in Ireland.
As part of the wider programme, Lawler Consulting provided Mechanical & Electrical Building Services Engineering across four schools – Presentation Secondary School, St. Canice’s Primary School and CBS Kilkenny, together with St. Finian’s in Mullingar.
Each development presented its own combination of design, construction and operational requirements, requiring an engineering approach that delivered consistency across the programme while responding to the individual needs of each school.
Lawler Consulting’s involvement encompassed four distinct school developments, ranging from new-build primary and post-primary facilities to phased construction and the sensitive redevelopment of protected structures.
Demolition of the existing school, with selected elements retained, and construction of a new two-courtyard school building incorporating outdoor terraces, sports pitches and ball courts.
Demolition of the existing school and construction of a new L-shaped two-storey building.
The project is phased to allow the school to remain operational during construction and includes new parking and hard play areas.
New two- to three-storey post-primary school on a greenfield site in Kilkenny town centre.
Works include play areas, landscaped car parking, boundary treatments, ballcourts, bike parking and a new link road.
Demolition of existing structures and construction of two new three-storey blocks.
Includes landscaping, play areas, refurbishment and extension of protected structures, and a new all-weather pitch.
Across the four schools, Lawler Consulting’s focus was on delivering coordinated, efficient and practical building services solutions designed around the demands of modern educational environments.
The M&E design considered energy performance alongside comfort, maintainability and long-term operation, supporting learning environments that are efficient, adaptable and designed to perform throughout their lifecycle.
Working as part of the wider project team, our engineers coordinated building services across four very different developments while maintaining a consistent approach to quality and performance across the programme.
From individual schools to complex multi-site education programmes, Lawler Consulting brings the engineering expertise, coordination and practical delivery experience needed to create efficient, resilient learning environments designed for long-term performance.
