Project Summary
The Mayfair Library project involved the refurbishment, remodelling and extension of the existing Mayfair Building, delivering a modern public library and learning space as part of the wider Abbey Quarter regeneration in Kilkenny City.
Originally constructed in the 1960s, the two-storey building was sensitively upgraded within a designated Architectural Conservation Area, incorporating a contemporary extension and new internal layouts to support flexible public use.
Lawler Consulting Role
Lawler Consulting were appointed as Building Services Design Engineers, providing full Mechanical and Electrical design services for the refurbishment and extension works.
Through a public procurement process, Lawler Consulting were also appointed as LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED AP), supporting the delivery of sustainability objectives alongside the core M&E design role.
Our services included close collaboration with the wider design team and ongoing technical support during construction to ensure coordinated delivery.

Contributed to the successful delivery of a ‘My Open Library’ facility, accessible up to 98 hours per week
