Project Summary
Edmund Rice College (also known as Carpenterstown School) is a new, purpose-built post-primary education facility developed to accommodate up to 1,000 students in Dublin 15.
Delivered as a Design & Build project, the school comprises a part three-storey and part two-storey building incorporating general teaching accommodation, a PE hall, ancillary staff spaces and four Special Needs Units

Lawler Consulting Role
Lawler Consulting were appointed as Mechanical and Electrical Design Engineers, providing full M&E design services for the new school building.
Our role included the development of fully compliant building services designs in accordance with all Technical Guidance Documents, building regulations and relevant standards, with a strong focus on reducing operational energy use and carbon emissions.

Sustainable Design Features
- Rainwater harvesting system supplying greywater to WCs, saving up to 3,500 m³ of water per year
- Low water-content radiators, delivering up to 16% improved energy efficiency
- Photovoltaic (PV) system offsetting approximately 10% of total building power demand

- Delivered M&E design for a €24 million post-primary school
